Sorting, Separation and Material-Handling Equipment
Profile’s solutions are developed to optimize sorting, separation, and vision-based analysis processes, providing greater operational control, improved product recovery, and increased efficiency throughout the operation.
Flexibility for different applications
Profile Industries Inc. portfolio brings together standard, configurable and customized equipment to meet the specific needs of each application.
Rotary Spiral Separator
The Rotary Spiral Separator uses powered spiral cores to separate round material from irregular, broken, or misshapen particles. Variable speed and directional control allow operators to fine-tune the separation while the machine is running.
Features
Benefits
- Produces presice shape-based seperation
- Delivers repeatable results from batch to batch
- Adjusts quickly to changes in material behavior
- Recovers more usable product from the reject stream
- Provides greater control during production
Applications
- Cleaning soybeans, peas, canola, and other seeds
- Grading steel shot, ceramic media, and glass beads
- Removing splits, chipped pieces and misshappen particles
Static Double Spiral Separator
The Static Spiral Separator continuously separates materials according to shape and rolling characteristics. Product travels through the fixed spiral by gravity, providing dependable separation without motors or electrical controls.
Features
Benefits
- Eliminates electrical operating costs
- Requires minimal mechanical maintenance
- Offers straightforward setup and operation
- Provides continues processing with no moving parts
- Deleivers and economical solution for consistent products
Applications
- Cleaningsmall and large or specialty seed lots
- Reclaiming usable abrasive media
- Portable or seasonal processing operations
Static Simple Spiral Separator
The Static Spiral Separator continuously separates materials according to shape and rolling characteristics. Product travels through the fixed spiral by gravity, providing dependable separation without motors or electrical controls.
Features
Benefits
- Eliminates electrical operating costs
- Requires minimal mechanical maintenance
- Offers straightforward setup and operation
- Provides continues processing with no moving parts

Oscillating Shape Sorter
The Oscillating Shape Sorter uses controlled linear vibration and an inclined deck to classify material. Round particles roll down the deck while flatter or irregular particles move upward into separate collection areas.
Features
Benefits
- Handles small micron size difficult-to-sort materials
- Detects subtle differences in particle shape
- Separates material into 8 or more fractions
- Fine-tune particle movement for challenging products
- Accommodates diverse materials through deck changes
Applications
- Sorting flower, grass and other fine seeds
- Classifying powders, microbeads, and small particles
- Grading ceramics and specialty materials into multiple fractions
Vysion Optical Sorter
Optical sorting solution that uses multispectral vision, machine learning, and real-time adaptation to detect and separate materials with a high level of precision.
Features
Benefits
- Greater quality and purity control
- Waste reduction
- Performance validation with the customer's material
- Decision-making support with test reports, purity data, and yield data.
Applications
- Seeds
- Food
- Industrial
- Mining and minerals
- Medical
- Advanced materials

Belt Shape Sorter
The Belt Shape Sorter uses an inclined moving belt to separate products according to shape, surface texture, and rolling behavior. Adjustable belt conditions direct material into four collection fractions.
Features
Benefits
- Separates similary sized products with different surfaces
- Produces multiple grades in a single pass
- Prevents feed surges from dirupting seperation
- Adapts to new products through mechanical adjustments
- Reduces time spent manually sorting material
Applications
- Seperating vegetable seed from weed seeds
- Removing round plating media from manufactured components
- Sorting spherical balls from deformed, chipped or broken balls
Static Spiral Separator vs. Rotary Spiral Separator
Both technologies separate materials according to shape, but their performance and level of control are significantly different. The Static Spiral provides simple, economical separation, while the Rotary Spiral delivers substantially greater precision, effectiveness, and process control.
Static Spiral
- Gravity-powered shape separation
- No electrical power required
- Stationary spiral cores
- Feed rate controlled by orifice
- Available in open or enclosed configurations
- Best suited for basic separation requirements.
Rotary Spiral Separator
- Provides significantly more precise and effective separation
- Motor-driven rotating spiral cores actively control material movement
- VFD control of core speed and direction
- Allows fine adjustments while operating
- Removes misshappen and broken material more effectively
- Improves usable product recovery and final product quality
- Rubber lining helps reduce noise and material impact
